Helicopter Tours Helicopter is the quickest means to reach hinterland of the Himalaya. In less than an hour you are in the heart of high Himalaya that has exotic culture, Buddhist monasteries, and fantastic view of awesome Himalayas. Himalayan is the youngest and highest mountain system in the world. It is one of the best wonders of the world built by the nature. The range extends over 2400 kilometers facing south wards making an arc between the Indus and Brahmaputra rivers with Nanga Parbat (8125m) and Namche Barwa (7755m) as its terminal high points. The central section of this Himalaya range that covers 800 kilometers is in Nepal. Nepal section of the Himalaya has 1310 peaks over 6000 meters and best collection of lofty peaks. Out of 31 highest peaks over 7600 meter 11 peaks are in Nepal. Out of 14 highest peaks in the world Nepal has 8 peaks over 8000meter height. These are Sagarmatha- popularly known as Mt..Everest (8848m), Kangchanjunga (8586m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), ChoOyu (8201m), in the east, Manaslu (8163m) in the central and, Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna (8091m) in the west. Dr. Harka Gurung, a prominent Nepalese geographer, has noted that “In contrast to the profusion of ranges westwards, both the frequency and absolute height of peaks increase eastwards.” Thus, breath taking panoramic view of the Himalaya covered by the mountain flight is in the east. Depending upon the aircraft you can be as high and close to the lofty peaks as possible.
