There are several peaks scattered across the himalayan belt, which are technically not that difficult. Most of these peaks are located near the main trail in Everest, Annapurna and Langtang regions. There are also peaks in this category which is quite formidable for climbers; they require as much preparation as for big mountain expedition. However, the peaks catalogued in here are the most popular in terms of accessibility, cost and climbing experience. Climbers to train for future big expedition also use these peaks. Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) uses some of the peaks to train Nepalese climbers and high altitude porters. In fact Nepalese government have given authority to NMA to control these peaks. The money they get is used for the promotion and preservation of mountaineering and welfare of mountaineers.
