Longer trek in Annapurna and Langtang are most popular with trekkers. The statistics shows 70 percent of the trekkers goes to Everest and Annapurna. Because of several villages en-route dotted with teahouse and lodging facilities operated by local people it is convenient for trekkers. Whether you trek alone or with friends or join a group you would enjoy walking in the mountain. Since 1950 these two areas has been trekked and explored extensively.
Please take a note while deciding your holiday at this end. During the high season in October and November, flights and hotels are fully booked and hotels/lodges and trail in the trekking trail in this region can be horrendously busy.
During atumumn the nights are cold in the mountains, but the bright sun makes for pleasant day tempretures, in the high 20 degree celsious, falling to 5 degree celsious at night between 1000m to 3000 meter. At higher altitudes temperaturs range from about 20 degree C down to -10 degree C.
December is good time for trekking. The Christmas period is cold but there will be very less tourist enroute and less busy trail so you can have choice lodges. If you are coming to do high passes trek during winter, we provide experienced trek guide who is well versed with the route and you can trek confidently.

You start your trek from Besishar and follow well-maintained trail through Marsyangdi valley to Manang. Ascend the steep and often snowy trail that leads to 5335m Thorangla (pass), and then descend to Muktinath and to Jomsom. The trail continues to descend to Tatopani (hot spring). You trek further to a beautiful village called Ghandrung before you finish trek at Pokhara. Next day, travel by tourist bus to Kathmandu.
Low mountain range and tropical vegetation gradually disappear as you reach higher elevation. As the trek circumnavigates the entire Annapurna massif you come across many villages of different ethnic groups, beautiful waterfall and, panoramic view of entire Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. People living at higher elevation are Buddhist and at lower region there are Hindus. Major parts of the trail are easy walk except the section from Phedi (Manang) to Thorang pass is quite demanding. This trek terminates at Pokhara.

Annapurna foothill region is the focus of the article “Honey Hunters of Nepal”, written by Eric Valli and Diane Summers and another article “Annapurna Sanctuary for the Himalaya” written and photographed by Galen Rowell. Both articles were published in National Geography magazine. It has been subject of writers , photographers and climbers since Mourice Herzog first ascent to 8000 m peak Annapurna 1 back in 1950s.
The glacial basin of Annapurna Sanctuary is formed by the circle of Annapurna Himalaya range, Gangapurna and Machapuchre. As you travel from Chumro towards the Sanctuary the trail pass through narrow valley which is prone to avalanche in winter and early spring. You follow Modi Khole (river) through thick bamboo and rhododendron forests into the center of lateral moraine and base camp of Annapurna to view the spectacular Annapurna range all around. Stop at Ghorepani to see beautiful sunrise view over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The Gurung villages and frequent stops at tea-shop dotted along the way gives an unique cultural experience. Like the Sherpa in Everest, Gurung are in Annapurna and Limbus in Kanchanjunga.
