1. Travel Information
a. Immunization: Recommended injection: It is usually recommended to get Cholera, Tetanus, polio, typhoid, and typhus injection for travel to Nepal.

Malaria prevention tablets are recommended if you want to visit terai or jungle. Meningitis vaccine is recommended for all trekkers especially for visitors to remote villages.

Gamma Globulin is recommended for trekkers as protection.

b. Customs: It is strictly forbidden to export antiques or religious objects such as statues, prayers wheels, reliquaries, bells or vajras, weather old or new. If you are entering Bhutan with instruments, apparatus, appliance for professional use or photographic equipment, video cameras and other electronic goods, such items must be declared at the customs in writing. If such items are disposed of in Bhutan by sale or gift, they become liable to customs duty. Wild life products are prohibited to take outside the country.


c. Tourist Entry points are Phuncholing and Paro airport are two major entry points for tourists.

2. Safety Situation
Bhutan is safe place to travel.
3. Travel documents
Travel Permit & Visa: The Bhutan Government issues tourist visa to all tourists on arrival in the Kingdom. Passport details should be forwarded to us 15 days prior to departure to sort out and prepare official formalities. Visa clearance from Thimpu (Capital of Bhutan) is mandatory for permission to board the plane to Bhutan.

The visa costs US$20. It must be paid in cash on arrival at Paro airport. You must carry two passport size photos. The visa can be extended in Thimpu for upto six months at a cost of Bhutanese Nu 510
4. Best Time to Visit
Spring and autumn are considered to be the peak seasons. Spring starts from April through June and autumn from September through November. Many festivals are held in these periods. It is best time for visitors to take advantage pleasant climate and the festivals. Tourism infrastructure are limited in Bhutan. So, in the peak seasons all tourist’s facilities are fully booked. Off season would be better if you wish to be in less crowded time.
5. Flight delay
Airport at Paro is 3280 meter (7500 ft). The flight often have to be cancelled due to low visibility and high wind. So, you should allow 2 or 3 extra days for such delay. Cost of accommodation and meals are not included in the prepaid cost.
