3. Staffs in climbing expedition
Liaison Officer: This is a representative of the government who is assigned the job to ensure the team has abided by the government regulation and also to help the expedition whenever required. The expedition team should pay all his expenses. This officer stays at the base camp and files periodic report to the government. |

4. Sardar or headman of the expedition
The title is given to the headman of the expedition. Sardar is the head of the Nepalese staffs. He takes cares of the expedition cargo from the nearest airport to and from the base camp. He ensures that there is no bottleneck in the base camp operation. Generally he has the authority to hire and fire staffs. He takes order from the expedition leader and base camp manager only. |

5. Trekking Peaks opened for climbing
Trekking peaks are under Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). It has its own climbing rules and regulation. There are 18 peaks known as trek peak under its control. There are additional new peaks under NMA. Most are virgin peaks. Application procedure and process to NMA is simple and straightforward. Compared to expedition peaks it is financially inexpensive because there are no mandatory provision that requires climbing team to take liaison officer and other staffs. Cost of the permit is based on group size. Most of trekking peaks are between 5000 to 6000 meters elevation. Most of the trekking peaks are located on the main trakking trail.

Trekking peak permit Fees
1- 4 persons US$350
5- 8 persons US$510 ($350 + $40 per person above 5 person)
9-12persons US$610 ($520 + $25 per person above 9 person)
Permit is valid for one month only. Maximum number allowed in a group is 12 persons. Fees paid are non refundable.
