read moreWe really had a great experience on the Manaslu Circuit. The trekking is a wonderful combination of the overwhelming nature of the Himalaya and the warm Nepali culture of the villages we passed through along the way. After a couple of days of lowland heat and sweat, we gradually got into higher terrain, with the views of Mount Manaslu getting better and better. At the same time, the culture mix of Hindu and Buddhist backgrounds also changed, to the Tibetan Buddhist influenced villages at higher altitudes, with prayer flags everywhere. After a rest day at 3500m altitude to acclimatize, we went on for the last days of climbing, until we finally reached the Larke pass at 5100m. From then it was a steep and quick going down for three more days, and soon we reached the busier track of the Annapurna valley, back to the other world with cars, noise...
In April – May 2017 I cooperated for the eighth time with Kailash Himalaya Trek. Now we made a tent trek in Humla - NW Nepal. During our Limi Valley Trek in that area we saw marvellous remote and wild mountain landscapes with high snowy mountain peaks. In Halji we visited Nepal’s oldest Himalayan Buddhist temple and monastery. It was an impressive travel along the Karnali - and Limi river. We got the idea to go back in time for centuries. During that trek Mr. Kitap Tamang was our guide. He and his assistants take care of us under all circumstances and they guided us very well on the high, remote and impressive route. All our equipment was transported by porters. Thanks the efforts of the KHT staff we had a very fine and save trekking in a wonderful area. I choose for Kailash Himalaya Trek because I had seven...
19/12/2016 We have just returned from our trip to Nepal and a big part of it was our trekking section. We contacted Ramesh and his company to enquire about what they would suggest in terms of length and routes and the amount of detail and response time was simply fantastic. We recieved a detialed email containing suggestions and pricing as well as a word document with all the extra important information. This was so reassuring for us and was very stress free. We were advised what details were needed to sort out permits and all the admin stuff. We meet our guide the day before the trek and sorted out the payment. We then arranged a time to meet the next day and then our fantastic experience started. The guide was amazing, great knowledge, passionate about Nepal (+ poetry) and made sure we were taken care of every step of...
I can recommend Bekh Magar as a very competent and also very sympathetic trek guide. Bekh has lots of experience in guiding treks with foreign guests through the mountains. As a person he very easily makes contact, not only with the members of his group, but also with all people you meet during your trek. Because of his mastery of the English language he is very well able to explain things in an easy and clear way. Bekh takes care for the wellbeing of his group. Being well known to the habits of European guests, he arranges your stay and trek in a way you are feeling very comfortable. He also knows the risks you might face while being on trek, and is taking care for your safety and health. He very much likes Kukuri rum and sometimes a Carlsberg beer, and he earns it. After having been on trek...
In March 2016 I took a 6 day trek to Gosaikunda Lake. Due to my previous climbing experience, which was very poor, to be honest I didn't expect to reach my goal. With help of guide and porter I made it. These are highly professional guys and I didn't felt insecure in one second of my trek, and we together survived thunderstorm blizzard and 4.3 earthquake during one night. Guide and porter evaluate my strength and they adopt to my tempo giving me enough time to rest but every day we reach our goal on time. During my trek accommodation was nice and food was excellent. Of course, you must be aware that you are on isolated place on 2.000-3.000-4.000 meters and cannot expect Las Vegas style hotels but I really enjoy every day. People told me before my trip that I will have some stomach problems and to be...
In November 2015 I cooperated for the seventh time with Kailash Himalaya Trek. Now we made a lodge trek around the Annapurna. During our trek we saw marvellous landscapes, high snowy mountain peaks, villages, inhabitants, birds, monasteries and other religious buildings. It was an impressive travel along the Annapurna Circuit. We got the idea to go back in time for centuries. During our trek in the Annapurna region Mr. Kitap Tamang was our guide. He and his assistants take care of us under all circumstances and they guided us very well on the high, remote and impressive route. All our equipment was transported by porters. Thanks the efforts of the KHT staff we had a very fine and save trekking in a wonderful area. I choose for Kailash Himalaya Trek because I had six good experiences before. Since 2005 I cooperate with Kailash Himalaya Trek - under management...
We found Kailash Himalaya Trek online as they offered shorter treks along the Everest Base Camp route and unfortunately we didn’t have ample time for our Nepal trip. From the start they were professional, helpful and patient and although we were concerned that we had no personal recommendation, Ramesh Hughes at Kailash Himalaya Trek put my mind at ease throughout the process. Our guide Gopal was fantastic and well informed, we were two females travelling alone and he made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. He was also very resourceful, for instance when flying to Lukla on the first day the weather wasn’t allowing planes to land, He was able to negotiate a helicopter trip at a reduced fee instead and we were one of the very few that got through that day. The trek was the most memorable part of our Nepal trip, we had an amazing time and...
Dear Ramesh I wish to express my gratitude to you and your team once again for perfectly organizing our successful 2015 fall expedition to Putha Hiunchuli (7,246 m). In particular my thanks go to Renzen Bothe for his strong and unselfish support from base camp to summit, to Sarbajir Tamang for his incredible creations in the kitchen tent (particularly the Swiss Rösti) and to Ranee Tamang for his distinguished way of serving us in all aspects. I think that Kailash HIMALAYA Treks embodies the way climbers and trekkers from all around the world wish to be assisted in the Nepal of the future. I trust that you will remain one of those outstanding companies. All the best! Angelo Vedani, Switzerland (summitter of three 8000 and five 7000 metre peaks)
Hello Ramesh! My trek was wonderful, although the weather was not good enough to see the mountains the trail was lovely and uncrowned, and Gopal was a great guide; so helpful, I enjoyed myself very much! Thank you for all of your help!
We visited Nepal for a quick 3-day trekking experience and wanted something a bit different but not too strenuous. Coming from the Middle East (direct flight from Muscat) and keen hill-walkers, we were happy to walk and camp in January and relished the adventure it offered. We completed a trek in the Kathmandu valley (Nagakot, Chisapani, Shivapuri) and loved every minute of it, passing through beautiful villages and enjoying the mountain scenery in the distance. All the equipment was provided (including winter sleeping bags) and we were very well looked after by our guide Gopal, team of porters and cook throughout the trek; the food was delicious each meal and gave us a real sampling of Nepali cuisine - amazing what can be rustled up with two cast iron hobs and a couple of pans. They could not have been more attentive. We liked our experience it so much...
Hi Ramesh, Crazy to think that I did this trek 6 weeks ago! I just want to thank yourself and your company for providing both me and Angie with the best possible guide and porter! We felt very grateful that we had such great company during the trek and they provided us with the best service as well as made us feel more than comfortable. I will definitely recommend your service and company to anyone I know travelling to Nepal Thanks again! Catherine
Hello Ramesh, We are back happy and satisfied- We wish to thank u for your kind attention and service. Depak was wnderfull, he is a very special person, serviciable , kind , happy to help , cheerfull , talkative and allways taking the effort to make us confortable – Relly splendid. More than the magnificent scenarios and nature which we saw the experience of his frank friendship made the trek truly unforgetable. His expertise on the terrain , his knowledge of the ways of the people in the samall villages we visited was admirable. His relation with with the people that hosted us wether at the lodges or home stays made it easy for us to share splendid moments in their houses. Depok took all care to accomodate our request in the best posible ways. Suman the porter was also very pleasent to us. I must add that Suman although...
Hi Ramesh, I'm sorry for the delay - I'm just finding it difficult to get back into a work routine after our week of adventure in Nepal! We had a wonderful time, in large part thanks to our guide, Sarba, and the porters, Bupindra and Rabin. They were professional, patient, knowledgeable, and fun at all times. Sarba went above and beyond, not only taking care of all our needs in the daytime but also in the evening he taught us Nepali card games and introduced us to local food and drinks. We felt lucky to be with him each day. We found your company to be easy to work with, quick to respond, and professional as well as a good value. I will certainly recommend Kailash Himilaya and Sarba to any friends who travel to Nepal. Thanks so much, Stacy Crowell
Dear Ramesh, This morning I arrived in good condition at home, after a journey without further complications. I want to express again my deepest thanks for all the activities you undertook for me, especially organizing the helicopter flight, your help for going into the hospital and your visits there and also the succesfull last-minute transportation to the airport and the assistance there. I wish you much success for your trekking office, and maybe we’ll meet us again in the coming years. Best regards, Wim Simons Deventer, the Netherlands
In October 2014 I cooperated for the sixth time with Kailash Himalaya Trek. Now we made a lodge trek through the old Kingdom of Mustang. During our trek we saw marvellous landscapes, villages, inhabitants, birds, monasteries and other religious buildings. It was an impressive travel in the mountain dessert of Mustang. We got the idea to go back in time for centuries. During our trek in Mustang Mr. Kitap Tamang was our guide. He and his assistant take care of us under all circumstances and they guided us very well on the high, remote and impressive route. All our equipment was transported by porters. Dear potential trekkers, My partner and I signed up for a short ( 6 days – adventure – hiking to Gosaikunda Lake) in Nepal. Overall, it was a very memorable experience full of pleasant memories. The pre-trip organization was excellent, thank you very much Ramesh for all the support; and this was coupled with a great hike guided by Pancha and Khiru through beautiful and picturesque sceneries. I highly recommend Kailash Himalayas Trekking to everyone who is looking to spend a good time in Nepal with a high quality service provider. Christophe & Aurelie

We had the great pleasure of trekking with Kailash Himalaya Trek during 42 days - no less. We asked them to connect the Manaslu-, Annapurna Circuit- and Upper Mustang treks into one continuous adventure for us. The Manaslu trek we did as a camping trek, the other two as guesthouse treks, with only a guide and a porter plus a tent - just in case. This gave us the opportunity to get to know many aspects of life in rural Nepal, to experience the friendliness and hospitality of the people, and to enjoy the enormous diversity of the natural beauty of the country, as well as its cultural en religeous heritage. Our guide Bekh was always in a good mood and readily spoke with everybody who could provide up to date information on local conditions. He showed much flexibility when discussing details of the day to day plans and during...
Dear Ramesh, We had a great experience in Nepal, again. Dhiraj did a great job, he was helpfull and he was very reliable. Our children loved him and were feeling sad to say goodbye to him. If you ever have clients with children we can recommend him., Our time in Kathmandu was too short to say goodbye personally but next time we will have a drink together, Thank you for your help, perfectly organised!! All the best Judith , Peter, Bieke, Nout, Huub and Peer. 14 May 2013
Hi Ramesh, I just retuned to Sydney last week after a very enjoyable trip to Nepal.I had a wonderful time but it is always good to be home and start planning my next trip. The trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill was fantastic. I had a lovely time and of course the scenery was second to none. Great views of the sunrise from Poon Hill but I did find that "stony staircase" a bit of a challenge at times but well worth the effort. I must say that it was my wonderful guide Gopal that made all the difference. he was just the best, such a great guy. Not only was he familiar with all the local cultures and history he was keen to share his knowledge and spoke English very well. He was respectful and courteous at all times and I could tell by his interactions with his peers that he was liked and...
Hello Ramesh, Must thank you and your guide Gopal for a fantastic day trek. Gopal was very nice and gave us quite an adventure in the forested part at the top near Australia Camp. We have always wanted to do some trekking near the Himalaya and it will live with us in our memories as a superb day in Nepal. Thank You again and thank Gopal for us again. Gavin and Moira
Dear Rameesh, I can't believe how time is flying away so fast and it is nearly a year since we met you in Nepal when you organised our fabulous, amazing, inspiring, beautiful trip round the Golden Triangle in India, onto Kathmandu, exploring the history of the city then a truly wonderful time in Chitwan National Park, before flying in and driving back from Lhasa, Tibet which was a truly extraordinary experience. Every step of the way was fantastic. It was a holiday that you built to meet our personal needs and interests. Our guides were all excellent; they spoke very good English and obviously loved their country and heritage. We learnt so much from them all. They were courteous, friendly, good humoured, kind and the same went for our drivers. There is nothing I can fault about the trip. All the accommodation was right; clean hotels, warm staff and some...
In September 2012 the Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Club cooperated for the fourth time with Kailash Himalaya Trek. Now we made a camp trek in the Inner Dolpo region. During our trek we saw marvelous landscapes, villages, inhabitants, birds, monasteries and other religious buildings. It was an impressive travel through the ‘hidden land’. We got the idea to go back in time for centuries. During our trek in Inner Dolpo Mr. Kitap Tamang was our guide. He and his Sherpa’s take care of us under all circumstances and they guided us very well on the high, remote and impressive route. The cook and his kitchen boys prepared very good and tasty meals and give us all services we need. All the camping equipment and provisions were transported by mules. Thanks the efforts of the KHT staff we had a very fine and save trekking in a wonderful area. I choose...
From: Johnson, Maureen (NIH/NCI) Sent: Monday, May 21, 2012 11:08 PM To: 'Kailash Himalaya' Subject: RE: Ghandrung Village trek May 15 to 19, 2012 Hi Ramesh, I want to thank you and the others, particularly Pancha and Thomas, for making our trek so fun and worry-free. We had a wonderful time and Pancha and Thomas were just great with us "old ladies." I will highly recommend all of you to anyone I know headed to Nepal! Thanks, Maureen
Namaste Ramesh, Just a short note to thank you for taking care of us and accommodating our early return to Kathmandu. Although we came back a day early we all had a great time and look forward to coming back next year. I hope the King does the right thing and returns things to a full democracy so life (and business) can get back to normal for you. Please pass on my thanks to Gopal and to Santa. Thanks once again - the assistance you provided was tremendous. Best regards Greg carlsonwagonlit.com.hk Hong Kong

We decided on a 21-day trek in the Khumbu region going up to Gokyo, crossing the Chola Pass, visiting Kala Pattar and Everest Base Camp and returning via a side trip to Chukkung. Our guide, Kitap Tamang, took excellent care of us throughout the trip making sure we were fine at the high altitude. Our porter,Dawa, was great as well always making sure that he arrived with our luggage either before we did or right after us. We enjoyed the trek and would recommend Kitap and Dawa to anyone considering a trip in the Himalaya. region. Milli Shah & Arun G. Gandhi Goswell Road London UK
To whom it may concern Since 1995, I have been working with Trekking Agency "Kailash Himalaya Trek" under the very reliable management of director Mr. Santa Subba and one of his sirdars Mr. Kitap Tamang. I organized the majority of those treks as Tour leader for the Royal Dutch Alpine Club. I did the follwoing treks with them: 1995: Everest- trek from Jiri with Kala Patar 1996: Makalu- trek to Makalu base-camp and top high ridge about it 1998: Around Dhaulagiri 1999: Kanchenjunga trek to north-and south base-camp 2000: Everest Traverse with Kongma-La, Cho-La and Renjo-La, Kala Patar and Gokyo-Ri 2001: Around Manaslu 2003: Upper Arun Trek During all those treks we had Kitap Tamang as our sirdar. His loyalty, strength and creative thinking are really unbelievable. As an example, just a few problems he solved during the treks mentioned above. ~ Evacuation of a member with a broken leg....
"What can we tell you about Kailash Himalaya Trek ? They are perfect and we like them". Since 1985, we asked Mr. Santa Subba, director of Kailash Himalaya Trek Agency, to organise treks tailor made for us (a small family of three persons). On our first visit to Nepal, around 1980, we immediately became enthusiastic of Kathmandu Valley. Therefore, we wanted to increase our knowledge of the different sides of the Nepalese culture by visiting places untouched by the development of tourism. Mr. Santa Subba, to our great satisfaction, advised us treks in areas newly opened, giving us a lot of information on the places to be visited and the ethnic groups which inhabited those regions. We did the following treks : 1985 Jomsom-Pokhara 1986 Tumlingtar-Hile 1994 Mustang 1997 Kailash and Mansarovar (via Nepal’s Simikot) 2002 Around Manaslu 2003 Upper Arun Valley 2003 Small trek around Phaplu Our plan for...
Namaste Ramesh ! Thanks for your communication, and especially for obtaining the refund. I was told by the Ghorka agent at the airport that no refund was possible, only a one year extension. That is why I didn't call you or request further assistance. The ride to Pokhara ended up being a great adventure, and I'm actually glad that things worked out as they did. We stopped for some great food along the way, the full moon occasionally showed thru to reveal the landscape, and the people in Pokhara welcomed me with great hospitality. Although unplanned, it was all great fun. The rest of the trip went well, with my time in Jomsom and the little trek to Muktinath being very satisfying. I also got to Marpha a couole of times, and truly enjoyed the amazing Himalayas. While in Kathmandu I went to Swayambhunath and...
Dear Ramesh Namaste! I am glad to hear the news that things are getting better politically. We reached back safely and every one is back to work. We really enjoyed the track your planning and service were excellent. The guides Kitab and Pema were very good and most helpful. The city tour was excellent. On behalf of all the members of our group I thank you very much for the services provided. Please pass on our regards to Mr Santa Suba Please let me know if you need any services from here Best regards Prabhulal Dodhia Midddlesex, UK
