    Annapuran Base Camp is popularly known as Annapurna Sanctuary as you will be trekking in the heart of the region. Annapurna foothill region is the focus of the article “Honey Hunters of Nepal”, written by Eric Valli and Diane Summers and another article “Annapurna Sanctuary for the Himalaya” written and photographed by Galen Rowell. Both articles were published in National Geography magazine. It has been the subject of writers , photographers and climbers since Mourice Herzog first ascent to (8000m) peak Annapurna 1 back in 1950s.

    The glacial basin of Annapurna Sanctuary is formed by the circle of Annapurna Himalaya range, Gangapurna and Machapuchre. As you travel from Chumro towards the Sanctuary the trail pass through narrow valley which is prone to avalanche in winter and early spring. You follow Modi Khole (river) through thick bamboo and rhododendron forests into the center of lateral moraine and base camp of Annapurna to view the spectacular Annapurna range all around.

  • Day 01: Drive to Kande (1770 m), trek to Landrung village (1565 m - 5/6 hour)

    Drive to Kande by car (35 minutes) and trek up to Australian camp, from Australian camp walking mostly uphill through cultivated fields and local villages. This scenic Gurung Village is inhabited by a mix of people: Gurung, Brahman, Magar communities and it offers a spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges including the Annapurna and Machhapuchhare range after having a lunch at Pothana, continue walk to Lovely village Landrung, another Gurung village in the Annapurna trail.

    Day 02: Trek to Chhomrong (2170 m - 6 hours)

    After breakfast continue trek to Jhinu hot spring, if time permits you can Enjoy a natural hot spring at Jhinu danda from here another hour uphill to Chhomrong. Stay at Chhomrong towering above the villages is the mighty peak of Annapurna south, with the Fishtail facing it across the valley.

    Day 03: Trek to Dovan (2600 m - 6 hours) – Lodge/Guest house accommodation

    We walk through the forest of Kuldighar. The track winds steeply up through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan.

    Day 04: Trek to Machhapuchre Base Camp (3700 m - 6 hours) – Lodge/Guest house accommodation

    A trek of the narrow Modi khola valley will bring you almost to the base of the Machhapuchre Base Camp. Here you will spend a day gazing away at the snow-covered peaks above and the beauty of the landscape around.

    Day 05: Trek to Annapurna Base camp (4130 m) and return o Dovan- 6 hours

    Early morning walking to Annapurna Base camp where you stand in the sanctuary, the 360-degree views are breathtaking, Although clouds roll in early, the curtain often lifts at sunset to rival radiant, glowing peaks Dovan.

    Day 06 :Trek to Chhomrong (2170m - 6 hours) – Lodge/Guest house accommodation

    Walking through a flat level after an hour climbs down to Kimrong Khola and start ascending you will walk through rhododendron forest and nice terrace rice fields.

    Day 07: Trek to Nayapul (1070m - 6/7 hours). Drive to Pokhara - 1 hour drive.

    Trek via Ghandruk village, an ideal vantage point in this pristine village offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli, it is one of the lovely and large Gurung villages in the region. Continue trek to Birethanti along with the terraced fields beneath the splendid panorama of awe-inspiring glaciated Himalayan mountain ranges, from Nayapul drive back to Pokhara.
