  • Culture and traditions in Bhutan play very important roles in preserving the status of the pristine environment. Bhutan’s unique cultural and traditional values, highly valued in them by all the populations, are also essential embodiments of the nation’s identity. For a small country located between the two most populated countries of the world and with no military might or economic strength, the preservation and promotion of its distinct cultural identity is seen as an independent and sovereign kingdom. It was this identity that has protected and sustained Bhutan and also provided the foundation for its major policies. On this tour you will be visiting cultural sites, and the highlight of the tour is the Taktsang monasterly also known as "Tiger's nest". You will experience the unique traditions and culture and life style of the now modern Bhutan. This trip will take you right from Paro to Thimput which is the capital of Bhutan.

For the local people it is a place of pilgrimage, but for a tourist, a hike up to the monastery is exhausting, thrilling and mystical. The legend has it that Guru Rimpoche is said to have flown to the site of the monastery on the back of a tigress from Tibet and meditated in the cave there for three months. Later, transfer to Thimphu. The drive from Paro to Thimphu is spectacularly scenic with magnificent Monasteries and Stupas in the valleys and mountain tops.
