  • A short hike to Chisapani is one of the popular getaway retreat for the denizens. This short hike will give you the best of nature with some typical local life, gorgeous Himalayan views, captivating sunset and beautifull sunrise from Chisapani and Nagarkot.

    Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, is situated in a basin surrounded by chain of mountain. Eastern rim of the valley from Nagarkot to Kakani provides easily accessible and a quick approach to the mountain. The Himalayan view from Mt. Everest in the east to Manaslu and Hiumchuli in the west can be seen throughout the trail. Langtang and Ganesh Himal dominates skyline on the north. On a clear day part of the range of Annapurna can be seen. The village dotted on the ridge and foothill of this section of the rim gives a bird eye view of diverse culture. The oak, pine and rhododendron forests give different view of the fast disappearing forest resources.

    This hike ends at Sankhu where we catch your vehicle for returning to Kathmandu This hike is not a very easy nor very soft, and can be termed moderate in difficulty due to couple of hours of uphill walk on the first day. But anyone with moderate fitness can do it.

  • Day 01: Drive to Sundarijal, trek to Chisapani (2050m) – 5/6 hours walk - Guest House accommodation

    After breakfast drive to Sundarijal, located on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Along the way, enjoy views of the hilly, forested terrain of the Kathmandu Valley and get acquainted with your fellow travelers as you prepare for your Himalayan adventure

    After your vehicle arrives at your first destination, hike with your guide up a long staircase that follows the water pipeline to the entrance of Shivapuri National Park. Take in the scenic beauty of your surroundings, where pine and oak forests mix with rhododendrons and a variety of orchids. As you continue your trek along the staircase and past the water reservoir, learn about the unique wildlife that is protected in the park, including sloth bears, leopards, wild boar and Indian porcupine. Listen for a variety of birds and keep an eye out for 150 species of butterflies.

    When your group reaches the village of Mulkharka, your guide will assist you to find a simple lunch in one of the wayside shops. Following a rest with food and tea, head through town, passing an abandoned school on your return to the forest. Here, the steep incline eases and shade offers welcome relief from the warm temperatures. Soon, if the weather cooperates with clear skies, catch your first glimpse of the high, snow-capped Everest ranges of the Himalayan Mountains.

    After approximately five hours on your first day’s trek, emerge from the wilderness and head into the village of Chisapani. In the evening, experience Nepali culture at an authentic tea-house, where you can have dinner and interact with the locals or just relax in the company of your guide and small group. Overnight: hotel or tea-house lodge in Chisapani.

    Day 02: Trek to Sankhu – 4 /5 hours walk. Drive back to Kathmandu .

    Walk past some ethnic villages and mostly through a dense and beautiful forest, listening the birds chirping and enjoying the view of the Himalayas . In the winter you get to see wild fowls and sometimes even deer.
