The trek was not availabe for a brief time with the recent earthquakes that happened in April 25th April, 2015. Now the local all got together and workd hard, two lodges are in operational at the moment as of August 4, 2015, and now 1 more added that we encounted in our recent visit at the end of December 2017, more lodges are being rebuil to cater more tourists at the moment. Days 01: Trek to Chiapani (2300m) - 5/6 hours walk- Overnight at Lodge/Tea House

First you drive to Sundarijal (1350m), it is about one hour and then walk uphill to Chisopani. A good day to sweat and loose some pound. The unpaved road from Kathmandu turns into a trail near a small hydroelectric plant. The trail passes through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement you will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang inhabitants. The route heads down the ridge through the forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisopani (2300m.). Chisopani is cold for its weather. It has magnificent views from Annapurna to Everest. Stay overnight at lodge

Day 02: Trek to Shivapuri (2732), trek down to Budanilkhantha – 6/7 hours walk

The trail from Chisapani continues to ascend along the ridge-line in the west. Walk through forest and less marked trail. It is easy walk because of gradual ascend and level trail. Descend to Budanilkhantha, a small town situated on the slop to the north of Kathmandu. Drive to Kathmandu.
Private trek arrangement cost:
- 1 pax US$ 210 per person
- 2 pax US$180 per person
- 3-5 pax US$160 per person
- 6-9 pax US$140 per person
- 10-15 pax US$125 per person
