    Ghorepani is one of the best and popular trek in the vicinity of Pokhara. It is also known as Poohill trek. The flora and fauna combining the view of the majestic Himalayan range are so spectacular. You will reach Poon Hill the highest point of 3200m which is the view tower. This trek takes you to the largest and beautiful Gurung villages, gives you an opportunity to view the spectacular Himalayan range from a very close distance. You will walk through the river valley and along the ridge, most of the day walk is several up and down. A day walk is usually a steep walk for 3 to 4 hours and another 3 to 4 hours downhill. The walking pace is easy, light and gradual.

  • Day 01: Drive to Nayapul – 1½ hour drive. Trek to Tirkhedhunga (1960 m) – Lodge. 4 hour walk

    Leave Pokhara at 7am. Drive to Nayapul. In the beginning, the trail follows along the river (10 minutes). Cross the suspension bridge at Nayapul and then climb to the ridge. Walk the trail paved by cobbled stones. Follow the trail along the Modi River for about 20 minutes to reach Birethanti. Stop for lunch. After lunch, follow the main street, pass through bamboo forests. Further, the trail passes through a large waterfall and a nice spot for swimming. Follow Burundi Khola on the north bank to Tirkhedhunga.

    Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani (2855m) – Lodge. 6 hours walk

    After Tirkhedhunga the trail cross a stream. Walk across the suspension bridge and then ascend the steep trail to Ulleri (1960m), a Magar village. The trail is paved by a stone staircase. Take a short break. After Ulleri you enter into beautiful pasture land, cultivated rice terraces, and through thick rhododendron and Oak forest. As you walk onward to  Ghorepani ou get to see a superb view of  Annapurna South (7219m) and Himchuli (6641m). You cross two sparkling natural streams then climb a short and steep trail to Nangethanti. Stop for lunch at a tea house in Nangethanti. In the winter (December to February) the trail on this section is often covered with snow. From Nangethanti it is about an hour steep but gradual climb to Ghorepani.

    Day 03: Trek to Tadapani (2630m) –Lodge. 5 hours walk

    Early morning climb up to the ridge at Poon Hill (3200m) to see magnificent sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range. The views of the Himalayas are truly mind-blowing.  Descend back to Ghorepani.  After breakfast climb the ridge to Banthati and then to Tadapani. The trail from Ghorepani climbs towards the south on a muddy path through the thick forests. The ridge along the trail hides the mountains and makes a steep, sometimes treacherous descent on a narrow path alongside the stream. You descend the gentle stretch of the trail to Banthanti for a lunch stop. After lunch, you follow the stream down to a bridge and then again climb to enter a cane field. There are some ups and downs walk to Tadapani. Some vantage point offer view of the mountains.

    Day 04: Trek to Ghanrung (1951m) – Lodge. 5 hours walk

    You follow the steady trail through the forest. The walk is quite easy. After two hours you pass through a rhododendron forest and a small settlement at Baishi Kharka (buffalo pasture land). There is a row of teahouses and lodges on the ridge. The trail descent to a small Gurung settlement and then reach Gurung village. Make further descend to Ghandrung. The entire Annapurna and Machapuchhere Himalayas dominate the skyline. You can also see the view of Lamjung Himal and Manaslu Himal at a far distance. It is a rich village. It has excellent farmland. Many generations of this village have served in British and Indian armies in their Gurkha regiments.

    Day 05: Trek down to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara - 4 hours walk. 1 hour drive

    After breakfast descent through pleasant trail that levels off as it reaches the bank of Modi Khola. Follow the river bank towards the south. Trek to Birethanti. Stop for lunch. After lunch retrace the trail back to Naya Pul (30 minutes). Drive back to Pokhara
