Nat Geo to setup weather station in Mt. Everest:

Apart from the weather in Nepal you may love to hear some latest and interesting news:   In this spring climbing season National Geographic Society plan to set up weather stations on Mt. Everest. The objective is to understand extreme environment condition and the dynamic of earth’s changing climate. NetGeo is permitted to install five automatic weather stations at different elevation along the climbing route and on the summit of Mt. Everest. The plan is to use satellite link technology to share near real time information about the condition on the mountain with scientist, regional managers and climbers. This station would help to carry out broad scientific assessment of expeditions to Mt. Everest and Solu Khumbu region that would ultimately help to empower communities living in this threatened zone to find solution to adapt in this ever changing climatic condition.
