    Darjeeling and Sikkim is the most popular tour amongst Indian tourist. This place is also one of the best hot spots within the Nepalese community, because of its close boundaries and ethnicity. Also, the place is a great vacation destination for family, friends and couples.  The elegant hills reside on the Northeastern side of the Himalayan foothills of the Indian side and attract large numbers of tourist across the continents.

    Darjeeling and Sikkim lie beneath the benevolent gaze of Mount Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain in the world. The place is a unique microcosm of the Himalayas and is a realm of amazing landscapes and exotic biodiversity. The place offers a remarkable variety in human cultures of diverse ethnic communities living harmoniously with nature.

    Sikkim is a small Himalayan state of India in the eastern Himalayas surrounded by China and Tibet in the north. With a population of 5, 50,000 people its rich culture of mixed ethnic groups of Lepchas, Bhutias, Limbus and Tibetans makes your visit a remarkable experience in your life.  Kanchenjunga the world third highest peak which many Sikkimese revered as the guardian deity attracts many thousand people each year from around the world. Apart from it, Tsomgo Lake attracts many visitors when the lake is frozen especially during the winters. You will find many monasteries and a sense of peace and tranquillity. The rarest and unique orchid flower is found here. Sikkim is a multilingual, multi-religious and multicultural state.

    Darjeeling: There is no finer place than Darjeeling to step yourself in the grandeur and beauty of the towering snowcapped mountains. Darjeeling derived its present name from the local Tibetan name, Dorjee-Ling, which means the place (Ling) of the Thunderbolt (Dorjee).  The hill resides in the northern part of West Bengal, similar in geography to that of Sikkim, with a population of 80 thousand. Darjeeling shares its border district with Sikkim in the north, Nepal in the West and Bhutan in the east. Darjeeling still retains an imperialistic touch although the British left about 60 years ago. Famous for its natural beauty and vast stretches of lush green tea gardens, and the only Himalayan Railway, known to the locals as the Toy Train, is now a world heritage that was listed by UNESCO in 1999.

    How to Get There:

    By Air: From Kathmandu, take the one hour flight to Bhadrapur (the nearest Nepalese airport to Darjeeling), drive to Kakarvitta (Nepal/Indian border 34km), to Siliguri (36km) and to Darjeeling (77 km, about 2.5 hrs drive).

    Sikkim now has an airport at Pakyong village build recently in 2018. It is 35 km from Gangtok. Druk Air and SpiceJet have started their flights to Pakyong. The nearest airport is Bagdogra. Due to technical problems flights to Sikkim has stopped their operation.

    By Road: Darjeeling is also connected by road with Sikkim (120km) and Bhutan (200km). Darjeeling is about 90 km from Bagdogra, the nearest airport, where scheduled flights operate from New Delhi, Calcutta and Guwahati

    By Rail: The nearest railheads are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri (88km) which are connected to Calcutta, New Delhi, Guwahati and other major cities in India.

  • Day 1: New Jalpaiguri/Bagdogra to Darjeeling - (3.5 hrs/ 88 km / 2270 m)

    Upon arrival you will be received by our representative at Bagdogra Airport. You will then drive to Darjeeling (7447 Ft), the “Queen of the hill station. The name Darjeeling is derived from “Dorje-Ling” which means the place of “Dorje”, the mystic thunderbolt. Covering a distance of 88 km over a drive of 3.5 hrs along winding roads. It is an experience of unforgettable beauty. Check-in at Hotel. Overnight stay.

    Day 2: Explore Darjeeling Sightseeing

    Start the day at 4 am with an early morning trip to Tiger Hill (7800 Ft) to catch the sunrise from behind the majestic Kanchanjunga range. On the way back visit the Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop. Back to the hotel for breakfast.

    After lunch, proceed for half-day sightseeing of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tenzing Rock, Labong Race Course, and Tea Garden & Tibetan Refugees Self Help Centre. Back to the Hotel by evening. Take a walk to “Chowrasta” the centre point of the Mall area. Do some window shopping.

    Day 3: Darjeeling to Gangtok (4 hrs drive / 127 kms / 1676 m)

    Leave by 8 am for a 4 hours journey to the Land of the Pristine and unspoilt natural beauty. Sikkim, with alpine landscapes and thick luxuriant forests, rivers, torrents and peaceful lakes. Arrive at Gangtok (5500 Ft) by lunchtime. Check-in at Hotel.

    (1400hrs-1800hrs) After lunch, visit Cottage Industries, Flower Show and Rumtek Monastery, 24 km from Gangtok was built in 1960 by His Holiness the Late 16th Gyalwa Karmapa & this is a replica of the original Kagyurpa Monastery in Tibet, a must-see for every visitor, the seat of the “Kagyu Order”. Behind the Monastery is the lavishly decorated Karma Nalanda Institute of Buddhist Studies which attracts students from the world over. Here one can find the most unique religious scriptures & art objects of the world. Back to the hotel by evening. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

    Day 4: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake (2.5 hrs /40 km / 3753 m)

    After breakfast proceeds to Tsomgo Lake 3,753 m (12,313 ft), a 40 km drive that takes 2.5 hrs. This lake is located very close to Nathula Pass which is the entry point to China termed as the “Silk Route & remains frozen for most parts of the year. Legend has it that the Lamas use to forecast the future by studying the colour of the lakes waters. Enjoy the surroundings, majestic snowy peaks which feed the lake and the clean fresh air. Back to Gangtok by 3 pm for a late lunch. Evening free for leisure or go shopping for Sikkimese traditional handicrafts. Overnight stay.

    Day 5: Sikkim To Bagdogra/NJP

    After breakfast drive for Bagdogra. Arrive Bagdogra and depart to the next destination.
