Green Lake Yumesamdong trek is one of the most popular and enchanting trek to experience while in Sikkim. The ecosystem and the flora and fauna of this place are so rich to captivate one's senses. This is a high altitude trek so proper acclimatization is necessary along the way. You will walk through the green land passing by varieties of Rhododendron, blue poppies and primulas in an awesome bloom. The view of Mt. Kanchenjunga is marvellous. One will see an unbelievable stretch of the green frozen glacier, which is known by the name Zemu Glacier. The view of Mt. Sinolchu (6887m) is just breathtaking. Green Lake trek starts from Lachen which is a beautiful village itself where we will set our base of this trek. Gangtok to Lachen is a day's journey of 5 - 6 hours by jeep.

Transportation: From Kathmandu, take the one hour flight to Bhadrapur (the nearest Nepalese airport to Darjeeling), drive to Kakarvitta (Nepal/Indian border 34km), to Siliguri (36km) and to Darjeeling (77 km, about 2.5 hrs drive). Darjeeling is also connected by road with Sikkim (120km) and Bhutan (200km). Darjeeling is about 90 km from Bagdogra, the nearest airport, where scheduled flights operate from New Delhi, Calcutta and Guwahati. The nearest railheads are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri (88km) which are connected to Calcutta, New Delhi, Guwahati and other major cities in India.
Day 01: Bagdogra to Gangtok. Pick up at airport and transfer to Gangtok. (125kms) 5hrs drive.

Day 02: Gangtok Sightseeing.
Visit Rumtek Monastery, Institute of Tibetology, Handicraft, Do-Drul Chorten and Enchey Monastery.

Day 03: Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake.

Day 04: Gangtok to Lachen (2728m) 123kms, 6hrs drive by jeep.
Passing through Tashi View Point, Kavi Lungtsok, Phodong Monastery, Mangan & Chungthang. Overnight at Gurudongmar lodge. (Lachen)

Day 05: Lachen to Tallem.
Your trek starts early in the morning to Tallem. (3468m) 13kms. Lunch at Tallem and free for sightseeing where the Lhonak Chu from the north meets Zemu Chu.

Day 06: Tallem to Jakthang.
Trek from Tallem to Jakthang (3176m) 4-5hrs trek. This route is a walk in the paradise passing through at least twenty different kinds of Rhododendron varying in colours from white to the deepest red, and in height from trees of 6m to scrubs of not more than a foot.

Day 07: Jakthang to Yabuk.
The walk from Jakthang to Yabuk (3978m) takes about 4hrs.You have to literally wade through bushes at many places and a small bridge over Thomphyak Chu.

Day 08: Yabuk to Rest Camp/Marcopolo Camp.
Trek from Yabuk to rest camp (4570m) takes about 5hrs passing through long moraine fields, looking like deserts.

Day 09: Marcopolo Camp Halt.
One day halt for Acclimatisation.

Day 10: Rest Camp to Green Lake.
The walk from Rest Camp to Green Lake (4935m) is about 6hrs. If the weather is clear you will be seeing Mt. Siniolchu (6887m) tiltiling against the sky lifting its silver spar. The most beautiful peak in the world.

Day 11: Green lake/Sightseeing above 600m.
From Green Lake 4hrs walk above 600m where you will be rewarded with the grand panorama of the Mt. Khangchendzonga divide & distant Chomalhari in Bhutan.

Day 12: Above 600mt to Zemu Glacier.
Descend to the bed of Zemu Glacier with many small Green Lakes.

Day 13: Zemu Glacier to Rest Camp.
The back journey begins to Rest Camp.

Day 14: Rest Camp to Thieulacha (5212m).
Rest Camp to Thieulacha is quite steeply zigzag with giant Rhubarbs Rheum Nobile and of thick scrubs of Juniper.

Day 15: Thieulacha to Langbo.
Trek from Thieulacha to Langbo is about 5hrs walk.

Day 16: Langbo to Muguthang.
Trek to Muguthang (4520m) you have to cross Tablhe Plateau which the flats look pale and the grey and the slopes below the snow are brown and yellow.

Day 17: Muguthang to Chopta.
Trek from Muguthang to Chopta (3920m) is steep, crossing Charub Chu and Lugnak La. Reaching Chopta where you can see meandering river.

Day 18: Chopta to Sebu.
Trek from Chopta to Sebu la (5352m) is about 5hrs walk passing through Thangu (small village town) and climbing up gently till Phalung, where Yak race has been done in winters. (Tibetan New Year & Lassur Chu)

Day 19: Sebu La to Yumesamdong.
Trek to Yumesamdong (4824m) 5-6hrs walk seeing the sightseeing of Sebu Chu, Waterfalls & the Hot Spring of Yumesamdong.

Day 20: Yumesamdong to Yumthang.
Your trek starts descending to Yumthang (3485m) seeing the views of Donkya Ri (6190m) and Phuhun Ri (7125m).

Day 21: Yumthang to Lachung.
Trek to Lachung is 5hrs walk passing through a valley of flowers in flower season with Hot Spring nearby. Night halt at Lachung hotel (SNOWLION MOUNTAIN RESORT)

Day 22: Lachung to Gangtok.

Day 23: After breakfast drive for Bagdogra. Arrive Bagdogra and depart to next destination
