  • Why Visit Kerala

    Kerala is one of our best tourist destinations in India. The state is in the southernmost tip of India. It has beautiful lush green landscape and finest backwater. Kerala is also called God's own country by Karelian. Vasco da Gama, a Portuguese explorer, is the first European to land near Kochi in 1498. He bypassed overland spice trade route once dominated by Muslim nations. Kochi is a historical city. Vasco da Gama built his first fortress in Kochi (Cochin) in 1503. The past legacy is evident as you travel around Kochi. Dutch traders (1661 to 1795) have left their impression. And the British came in and left their own legacy. The Chinese explorer Zheng He brought (in 1408) the unique Chinese fishing net that you find in Kochi. The net is said to be from the court of the Chinese emperor Kublai Khan. Paradesi synagogue built by Spanish Jews in 1568 is a testament to its history.

    Apart from its history you should see Theyyam dance performance. The dancing art form carries the cultural tradition of Kerala. The performance is very enriching experience. Another dance known as Kathakali is Hindu mythology based drama. It dates back to 17th century. The dance is well known for its large and distinct colourful make up and elaborate costume. The decorating process of the dance is very intricate. In dancing, their eye and body expression relate to Hindu epic character. The dance itself is very enjoyable.

    Kerala is famous for spices, tea and coffee plantations. They are all in the northern hills. Wild life and spices are in the north in Thekkady. There are coffee and tree plantation in Wayanad on the way towards Thekkady. In the south is water - canals that stretches deep inside the country side. The backwater boat ride in Allepey through these canals is fun and very enjoyable. The house boat has private air condition room with attached bathroom. If you prefer, you can get boat with Jacuzzi in its upper deck. It is very pleasant to watch the scenic beauty and sunset from the deck of the boat as you travel in the hinterland. You wish the ride would never end. The view of backwater is amazing. Further south there is a fine beach in Kovalam. The sandy beach town of Kovalam is popular with tourist. Enjoy the beach, sun and the ocean waves.

    South India Kerala is one of the demanding and most popular tour in India. The tour starts upon your arrival in Cochin. The city has one of the best harbors on the Arabian coastline and its port has been famous for overseas traders since early time. The city has become a commercial hub.     Roman came to Kerala in search of pepper and spices. Jews migrated at different time to escape prosecution. Vasco da Gama came from Portugal in 1498 to get his hold on spice trade which is older than Islam. He established his first fortress at Cochin (Kochi) in 1503. Later Dutch came in and drove the Portuguese from their enclave. British were the last foreigners to have left their imprint on Kerala.

    Next day we travel to Thakadey and national park at lake Pariyer to see wild lives, spices and herbal plants grown there. As you drive to the hill covered with tea and coffee plantation you pass through lush green vegetation with coconut and beetle nuts trees all over and spices and herbs plants in the higher elevation. You are amidst the un-spoilt nature. Stay two nights at Thakadey and return back same route to Allepey to take house boat ride in the back water of Kerala. The house boat trip through the canals is mainly concentrated around Allepey, Kumarakom, Kottayam, Quilon and Cochin. Besides enjoying the serenity of the quite river you travel through scattered villages in the hinterland of Kerala. Drive to Kovalam; stay two nights there and fly home from Trivendrum.

  • Day 01: Cochin (Arrival)

    Upon arrival our representative would meet you at the airport and transfer to hotel.

    Cochin has one of the best harbors on the Arabian coastline. The port has been famous for overseas traders since early time. The city has become a commercial hub.

    Day 02: Cochin

    After breakfast we take half day tour to visit Jewish Synagogue and Dutch Palace. The Chinese fishing nets is something you should not miss. In your tour you come across the historical imprints of the advent of Dutch and Portuguese in this peninsula. St. Francis Church built by the Portuguese that has the grave yard of Vasco De Gama inside the Church is believed to be the oldest church built by European in India. Another interesting European legacy is the Jewish Synagogue located in the narrow street. In the evening we drive to ‘Greenix Village’ to see the traditional Kathakali dance. The elaborate costume and facial painting and the classical dance is very enjoyable. Return back to hotel in the evening.

    Day 03: Thekkady

    After breakfast drive to Thekkady. You drive through the hills with coconut, coffee and tea plantation. The road gradually climbs high up the hill through winding road. As you reach higher elevation you see herbal plants etc. Free day in the afternoon. Overnight stay.

    Day 04: Thekkady

    After breakfast drive to Lake Periyar. It is one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in India. The lake is the home of wild elephant, bison and spotted deer. You take a ride in the boat that takes tourist around the lake for the sighting of wild animals. Overnight stay.

    Day 05: Thekkady– Alleppey

    After breakfast travel to Alleppey. Upon arrival board the house boat for a backwater trip in the hinterland of Kerala. The house boat is pleasantly decorated with comfortable room with attached bathroom. Overnight stay at houseboat.

    Day 06: Alleppey - Kovalam

    After breakfast at houseboat you will be driven to Kovalam, arrive and check-in to the hotel.Overnight stay.

    Day 07-08: Kovalam

    Free day in the beach. Spend easy day by the swimming pool or go for oil massage which Kerala is famous for. You may take walk along the sandy beach that looks toward the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay at houseboat.

    Day 09: Kovalam - Trivandrum

    Today you will be transferred to the Trivandrum airport to board on flight for onward destination.
