Trishuli River Rafting, Nepal-3141
  • It is the most popular river for rafting in Nepal. It is popular because of its proximity to Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan Jungle. The road to Pokhara and Chitwan travel almost parallel to the river. It has several sections with easy and exciting rapids. White water section is above Kuringhat; below that is mainly floating trip. Water level determines the point from where you start the raft; it can be either upstream or lower near Mugling. There are nice beaches along the route for camping. Rafting in Trishuli river is best when it is combined with safari in Chitwan or tour to Pokhara or both.

Travel: Starting points are on the road from Kathmandu to Chitwan. This is major highway to the other parts of Nepal. From Mugling the road goes to Chitwan and Pokhara.

As you come out of the Kathmandu valley and on reaching ‘Nagdhunga’ (the highest point in this highway), one can have a very clear view of the western Himalayas, on a clear day. Starting from Langtang in the east and Dhaulagiri in the west. The drive is through a winding and scenic road. As you reach at ‘Charaudi’ the put in point, you will meet the crew members of your trip. It takes about 45 minutes to inflate the raft and pack all the gears on the raft. You will be provided life Jackets and s short briefing will be given by your river guide. This includes on river safety and handling of the equipment. We set down the river for an exciting day to come. The major rapids on this stretch are known as , Ladies Delight, Upset, Monsoon, Surprise, Bijili and other smaller and medium size rapids (graded 3 to 5 +). After floating down for an hour or so, encountering few of the rapids, we choose a nice clean sandy beach for the lunch and spend about 1 hour for the lunch. After lunch we float further down the river encountering several major rapids. Our camp site for the evening will be at Kuringhat or Kurintar where we will reach around 3pm to 4 pm depending on the water level and time. At the camp tea or coffee with some cookies will be served. A small campfire will be built. Dinner will be served between 6 pm to 7 pm.
