Visit Nepal Year 2020


Nepal Government has declared Visit Nepal Year – 2020 with an objective to get two million tourists in Nepal. Promotion for this mega event would certainly encourage visitors to inquire about what they can do in Nepal. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) plan to boost tourist arrival by promoting through CNN and other major international TV outlets, inviting 400-500 media persons, tour operators and international celebrities. They are banking on completion of International airport in Bhairawa, Lumbini by September 2019 and rehabilitation of runway at the only international airport in Kathmandu by June this year. Tourism is the second largest foreign exchange earner in the country after labor export. Unlike such campaign in the past NTB has translated its marketing pitch in 10 different international languages to help it enable to reach core segment of the source markets. Though major concerned in Nepal is about poor state of proper physical infrastructure, but for trekking it is a blessing in disguise.
